RESOURCE CENTER > PUBLIC OPINION RESEARCH FOR THE TAP CAMPAIGN

After releasing its report in July 2005, TAP wanted to know what Americans thought about the United States' ability to sustain its scientific and technological superiority through this decade and beyond. So, in late 2005, TAP members Business Roundtable and Compete America engaged Peter D. Hart Research Associates, Inc. and the Winston Group to conduct nationwide public opinion research to help determine what the voting public and opinion leaders thought about this issue.

Overall, the research showed that Americans know that the United States risks falling behind. The research also showed that strong leadership will be critical to addressing the growing talent gap in the United States. Through TAP, the business community has shown its willingness to play a leading role in supporting and promoting solutions that will help keep America competitive and the future bright for all Americans.
